Since 1978 my major professional emphasis has been college level teaching. I do not currently have an active research program. The specific topics on which I have conducted extensive research are: (1) social and population genetic structure of Dolichoderine ants in Southern California and (2) integrated pest management of mosquitoes in the San Joaquin freshwater marsh. I am particularly interested in the application of the approaches and principles of these fields to the study of insects. We look forward to future sessions with Bianca.My research interests, in general, are in the ecology, evolution, and behavior of animals. My son said Bianca was helpful and fun! My son attends a French Immersion school and I want him to continue learning throughout the summer.
I chose her because of her credentials and the fact that she has experience working with younger children. This was my sons first tutoring session with Bianca.

She helped me with pronunciation because it’s difficult for me. I am excited for my future ESL lessons with her! Jessie, 3 lessons with Bianca French is fun with Bianca! I was nervous at first because of my English is not very good (Spanish is my first language), but she talked me through everything that we worked on in and even translated some things from English to Spanish and made sure that I understood. MY DAUGHTER WANTS TO LEARN SOME SPANISH BEFORE SHE BEGINS THE NEW SCHOOL YEAR, BEING SHE HAS TO TAKE BOTH SPANISH 1 AND 2 THIS COMING UP YEAR AND HAS NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE. Our daughter made a lot of progress over the summer and she now has the confidence to tackle her high school level French thanks to Bianca's lessons. She had materials and kept the classes interesting. Helping other become proficient in other languages and helping them love what I love is amazing to me!īianca worked with our daughter in French for the entire summer. I absolutely love traveling and with that comes language. I also have my DELF, which tested my proficiency in Spanish. I was also a French teacher assistant for 5th graders for a semester. As for French, I went to the French international School from Pre-K to 12 th grade. I have family in Brazil and my step dad who lives in the US. Since I was two my mother used to take me to Brazil every year during the summer and we even lived there for 6 months. My father is from Honduras and Spanish was my first language growing up. I have definitely learned from them! Also, going to a high school where most everyone’s first language was French, sometimes my peers would as me to tutor them in English to boost their grades seeing as I had the highest grades in my class.Įver since I was little I would always travel to different countries such as France, Mexico, Canada, Brazil, etc.
My mother was a teacher for ESL and my grandmother was an English teacher her whole life. I have many younger cousins that needed tutoring and I always helped them in all their subjects including Math, Science, and American History, however I do have more experience in Languages such as English, Spanish, French, and Portuguese.
